Adoptions
If you are thinking about adopting a rescue cat, the best thing you can do is contact us by filling in our adoption enquiry form - a couple of paragraphs below!
Maybe a cat has caught your eye on our website or Facebook page...if so, please get in touch! We can tell you if they are still available, and arrange a visit where you can meet your potential fur-ever friend.
We don't always get the chance to update the website in time, so please still get in touch if you're interested in adoption!
Before completing the adoption, we need to make sure that the environment for our little adoptee are purr-fect, so they can settle right in, and everyone is happy:
-
All adoptions are subject to a home check (within a reasonable distance).
-
We reserve the right to carry out a vet check for all adopters.
-
If you live in rented accommodation, we will require evidence of permission from the landlord for you to keep a pet at the property.
-
All adoptions are subject to a reasonable adoption fee.
-
Cats/Kittens who will have access to outdoors will not be rehomed on or near a main or busy road e.g. dual carriageways, busy A-roads, motorways, busy cut-throughs, main bus routes.
Application form
If you have seen a cat on the website or on our social media pages you would like to adopt or would like to find out who is available for adoption, please download our application form - fill it in and email to pawpurrshalfwayhouse@gmail.com. We will contact you to discuss the potential adoption as soon as we are able.
Home visit
The home check is a relaxed, short visit, which is carried out before we rehome every cat. Its purpose is to check that the environment is safe and compatible. It is also an opportunity for adopters to ask questions about the cat and an opportunity for PawPurrs to give you advice on settling in your fur-ever friend.
Adoption fee
We try to balance covering our costs with charging an affordable and reasonable amount. This fee includes neuters/spays, vaccinations, micro-chipping, as well as flea and worm treatments. It also contributes towards the running costs of the Halfway House (food, vet bills, heating, petrol, etc). Without these fees we simply would not be able to exist!
