 Meet Dr Speck 

I first met Speck at the vets in Ashton when I was there picking up our dear Webber, who we sadly lost. While I was standing there, this black-and-white boy was in a kennel, crying out for my attention. He looked right at me and my heart just couldn’t ignore him.

The vet explained he’d come in after a terrible attack, likely by another cat. His front right leg was savaged so badly it needed flushing out and sutures to heal the infection. Yet despite the pain and trauma, his beautiful personality still shone through. He leaned towards me, desperate for affection, and I knew then — if he had nowhere to go when he was ready, I’d take him in at Pawpurrs.

Weeks later, the call came. Speck was ready. Now neutered, microchipped, and tested (FIV negative), he joined us at the rescue — and what an absolute treasure he’s proven to be.

Speck’s personality is pure joy.

 He gives the sweetest head bumps.

 He stands up like a little meerkat and twirls in circles for attention.

 He adores playtime, zoomies, and kittens.

 He’s formed a sweet friendship with our David Bowie.

Speck is a gentle, loving soul who just wants to share his heart. His only little wobble is that he’s understandably wary of bigger, more dominant cats — likely because of his past attack. But with kindness, patience, and the right environment, Speck will thrive.

This boy has survived pain, kept his spirit intact, and is ready now for what he truly deserves — a safe, loving forever home.
