This brave boy is Eddie...
Eddie is 11 years old and was put out on the streets and left to fend for himself when his previous owner sadly passed away.
He was in a dreadful state when we were alerted to him. He was full of fleas, had scabs all over his body and was so very thin.
He was also suffering with a horrendous cold that within days of finding him, worsened and Eddie was left fighting for his life, spending 7 nights, in the vets, on an oxygen tank.
I personally had never seen a cat so poorly and we were advised to put him to sleep. But when I went to the vets, I picked him up and cuddled him and wept. I just couldn’t do it. I told him to get strong and that we’d fight for him to live.
Remarkably, Eddie hung on in there and had a huge turn around, eventually making a full recovery.
I just adore him! Eddie is a very timid boy, but when he gets to know you he loves being stroked and likes to nuzzle your face and purrs away SO content.
He has started to really enjoy playing and I think he would be ok with other cats as he lived in the alleys with them just fine.
Eddie is now in very good health. He is FIV negative, neutered and chipped, and also up to date with flea and wormer treatments.
He isn't vaccinated just yet. We just didn't want to over-face him during his recovery. But he will be and I do recommend a good supplement called Lysine to go on his food which will help maintain his good health.
We don't know how Eddie would be with children, I think he would like someone to be around alot. He doesn't really jump onto your lap but he very content with sitting right beside you.
We're sure he'd prefer be an outdoor cat. So far he hasn't tried the cat flap, he may not know what one is? But he can learn. There's still a lot of life left in this cat yet.
